The Barcelona Metropolitan Strategic Plan Association (PEMB) is the instrument of the metropolitan area for thinking in the medium and long term. Strategic plans are the embodiment of this shared reflection.
Barcelona Demà. Compromís Metropolità 2030 (Barcelona Tomorrow. Metropolitan Commitment 2030) is being defined by the PEMB itself as the process of defining a shared strategy for the metropolitan region to address the major urban challenges of the 21st century.
Unlike previous strategic plans, BCN Demàs has a systemic commitment in its DNA: through the consideration of various dimensions or visions of the same reality; through the participation of multiple actors in all stages of the process; through the desire to capture a reality made up of different layers that intermingle, generating the complexity of the metropolis.
This study emphasises the holistic perspective of the strategy, with the aim of giving it a comprehensive nature that does not jeopardise the objectives set.
